To provide a secure and nurturing environment and activities that will engage students in learning. This philosophy encompasses the belief that all the children can learn through active participation. Parental and Community support and involvement is also an integral part of these Services. The routine and timetabling of the Student Support Services is complex and constantly changing as based on the needs of the School community, classroom teachers and the students. It is also heavily impacted upon by Education Queensland requirements (eg. Year 2 Net, Year 3/5/7 testing etc…). The Student Support Services Committee meets every alternate Thursday to discuss the classroom needs and those of the students. The Deputy Principal, Guidance Officer, Special Needs Teacher and Student Support Teacher provide the framework of this Committee while teachers are invited to attend when student information is requested. From these meetings, decisions are made and processes developed to assist the family/student/teacher. Student Support Services may include:- |
